Written with Shawn R. Brice long enough ago that it could literally drink legally.
This song is about relationship conflict. Duh.
First verse is about SRB and his wife; the second verse is about me and my girlfriend of the time.
Ironically, Shawn and I had a conflict over how the tune ends. I wanted it to be an homage to "In every dream home a heartache"...But that didn't work out..
In the end, it turned into a battle between my guitar and Shawn's drums.
Two plus decades later, it's perfect. And so fucking meta.
lyrics
SHIVER
i guess at times
i don't know what to say
sometimes your profile drains my words away
sometimes surrender all that makes you whole
in the battles fought
with everything we love
and at night
when i find that i'm awake
i feel you breath
and i cry for what's at stake
and shiver
i shiver
SMALL FUCKING GUITAR SOLO
a saraband danced on the sidelines
a saraband danced with my hands over my eyes
perhaps i find the thought of you too dear
perhaps the more you love
the more you fear
When i wonder
what i might have thrown away
when i wonder
if it's been to dear to pay
i feel you breathe
and shiver
BIG! FUCKING! GUITAR SOLO! DEAL!
When i wonder
what we might have thrown away
when i wonder
if it's worth the price we've paid
and those nights
when i find I'm far from sleep
i see the fall of your hair on the sheets
and shiver
i shiver
i shiver
MOAR GUITAR AND DRUM FIGHT. FUCK YOU!
